Dave Astaire is an original rock guitarist from Adelaide, South Australia. A passionate musician who loves to entertain with his unique style as a solo electric guitarist/ singer playing to his own original backing tracks.. Currently Dave is producing solo and combined projects using a blend of computer technology and instruments, creating a diverse sound of rock, pop and dance.
Dave Astaire’s passion began at an early age playing keyboards and at the age of 13yrs he moved his focus towards the guitar. It wasn't long and Dave began playing in a number of bands around Adelaide, “Dorian Gray”, “Banshi”,” The Tramps( A R&B band)” and an Angels cover band, “Beyond Salvation”. Dave Astaire’s work was increasing and gaining in recognition with gigs including the Adelaide Fringe
He’s been a noted session musician, playing lead guitar on Peter Chants album “I close my Eyes”. The single reached in at the top 30 SAFM Chart in 1992. He has collaborated with Aldo Leopardi on several albums and in 2011, 2012 has since started gigging around various venues here in Adelaide Mostly as a solo original rock performer which he hopes to continue for years to come...
Among the highlights of 2013 was playing at the Semaphore Music Festival and for the Charles Sturt Councils Christmas show where over 1,000 people partied.
