Here is an excerpt of a review written by Paul Matthews from RippleHive radio
"Dave Astaire is, arguably, one of Adelaide's finest songwriters. A musician with passion and drive, Dave's career has seen him play many gigs around the Adelaide live circuit, including the Fringe, and his solo work is flawless. Dave's music combines computer technology and real instruments, creating a mix of rock, pop and dance. His career has seen him play as a session musician (lead guitarist) on Peter Chant's album "I Close My Eyes", with the single reaching the top 30 in 1992."
"Dave has also collaborated with another great South Australian artist now living abroad in Denver, Colorado, Aldo Leopardi. The two share a strong friendship and together worked on a number of albums.
The year 2011 saw Dave Astaire's career steadily rise, with more live solo performances at various venues and, as Dave explains, "I intend to continue gigging in years to come as I truly enjoy it".  I have to say on a personal level the song, "Carry Me Home",  is a favourite of mine. The song was written as a mark of respect for our fallen soldiers and it's tastefully, respectfully and eloquently executed. Dave's interpretation of Nick Cave's, "Mercy Seat", is another great triumphant track. I had the pleasure of meeting Dave and Aldo at a live recording session for TrueRock radio. It was there that I had the priviledge of hearing the two perform "Carry Me Home", as well as some other great tracks."
